History of Pizza, the balanced meal.

The history of pizza begins in various ancient cultures produced basic flatbreads with several toppings, From the Greeks to the Egyptians, from the Persians to the Indians, there have been incarnations of pizza served throughout history. Flatbreads, naan and Paratha are all early preparations that could be considered clones of the modern pizza, Bread similar to pizza have been made since antiquity. examples of people adding other ingredients to bread to make it more flavorful can be found throughout ancient history.

In 16th-century Naples, a galette flatbread was referred to as a pizza. Known as the dish for poor people, it was sold in the street and was not considered a kitchen recipe for a long time, oil, tomatoes were added after Europeans came into contact with the Americas, the first Italian pizza restaurant, Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba, began baking pizzas in 1738 as the dish grew in popularity.

Then, in 1889, modern pizza was born when pizzamaker Raffaele Esposito created the “Pizza Margherita” for the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy. It contained tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil to represent the colors of the Italian flag.

Truly the globally loved Pizza has different varieties, The pizza bases in Naples are soft and bendable, in Rome, they prefer a thin, crispy base. Another popular form of pizza in Italy is "pizza al taglio", which is pizza baked in rectangular trays.

In December 2009, the pizza Napoletana was granted Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status by the European Union.

In 2012, the world's largest pizza was made in Rome and it was measured to be 1261.65 square meters in area.

In December 2017, the pizza Napoletana was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists.

Pizza is a well-balanced meal as Pizza contains carbohydrates which are the crust and the cheese which contains protein and fat. And it was always a healthy diet till chemicals were added into it.
